Dandelion is a widespread herbaceous perennial up to 30 cm tall that grows in meadows and along paths in moderately warm areas of the Northern Hemisphere. It has a hollow upright stem, deeply cut leaves and recognizable golden yellow flowers. Contains bitters, flavonoids, mucilage and inulin. Young green leaves are used in salads, special teas are made from the roots.
