Gunpowder green tea is a traditional green tea that comes from China, where the history of tea drinking dates back thousands of years. It was given its name by English sailors because it resembles grains of gunpowder in color and appearance. The ball-rolled leaves unfurl in the water, thus contributing to the justification of its name. Tea leaves rolled into a ball help to retain more aroma and flavor in the tea.
